The S21 Ultra is the best of Samsung’s 2021 Galaxy S smartphones. Its top-of-the-range spec sheet takes in a quadruple-lens camera, a vast 6.8-inch screen and 5G support. And still makes room for a large 5,000mAh battery and the latest Android software features.
What does the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra have to offer?
The short answer is pretty much everything you’d expect on a high-end smartphone. But the star of show is its quadruple lens camera that may be the best on the market.
It’s also got a 6.8-inch screen that’s among the biggest and brightest on any smartphone, as well as 5G support for faster downloads and smoother streaming.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra display and design
The top-of-the-range S21 Ultra is also the largest, with a 6.8-inch display that’s among the biggest on any Galaxy S smartphone. Which makes it great for watching Netflix while you’re on the move.
And as you probably expect, the Dynamic AMOLED 2x display is the clearest and brightest of any of the S21 smartphones too.
Close inspection reveals it’s 30% brighter than the likes of the iPhone 12. So all your photos and mini movies look fantastic.
The screen is fashioned from Gorilla Glass, which makes tougher and more resistant to scratches than earlier Galaxy S models. And it’s equipped with an Eye Comfort Shield that minimises exposure to blue light to reduce eye strain.
Colour options are black, white, brown, grey and silver.
Samsung S Galaxy S21 Ultra S Pen
The S21 Ultra is the first-ever phone in the Galaxy S range that’s compatible with Samsung’s S Pen stylus.
Previously exclusive to Galaxy Note smartphones, the S Pen allows Galaxy S21 Ultra users to edit photos and videos, write and draw on the screen, take notes and sign documents.
It’s worth noting, though, that the S Pen is sold separately. And you’ll need to buy a special phone case to store it in too.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra connectivity and processor
As with all Galaxy S21 phones, the Ultra is 5G-compatible. So, where 5G is available, you’ll be able to download content faster and enjoy smoother streaming.
Powering the S21 Ultra is a 5nm processor that’s billed as the ‘fastest chip ever’ in any Galaxy smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra camera
Perhaps the standout feature of the S21 Ultra is its quadruple rear camera, which comprises wide and ultra-wide lenses (108-megapixels and 12-megapixels respectively) and two 10-megapixel telephoto lenses.
The 10-megapixel camera captures an incredible amount of detail, while the dual zoom system is sharper and more powerful than any previous Galaxy phone.
It’s also got a handy Night Mode, as well as a Studio-like Portrait Mode that’s augmented by AI that analyses your subject’s face and your shooting conditions to help you take better portraits.
The camera shoots 8K video to add a sheen of professionalism to your home videos too, and around the front there’s a 40-megapixel camera for selfies.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra battery
At 5,000mAh, the S21 Ultra’s battery is one of the largest of any smartphones and it’s claimed will give the average user more than 24 hours of use between charges.
It’s also equipped for Super Fast Charging that will get you 50% charge in half an hour and a comparably speedy and handy Fast Wireless Charging mode.
If you’re minded to, the S21 Ultra allows you to share your battery power with other phones that support wireless charging.
