"Unlimited broadband" lets you download as much as you like and is perfect for heavy users or families sharing a connection. However, these packages are usually accompanied by a fair usage policy or traffic management system that can slow you down at peak times or if you exceed your fair usage allowance, though this usually only affects a very small number of customers, say providers.
Truly unlimited broadband does not apply either a fair usage policy or traffic management, allowing you to download as much as you want, whenever you want, with your broadband speed acting as the only restricting factor.
